Whitehill Receives Gold Conservation Award
Published: 21st Jan 2019
We were thrilled to once again receive the David Bellamy Conservation Award. Not only did our countryside park receive the Gold Award, we also obtained the '5in5 Hedgerows' and '5in5 Wildflowers' badges, plus are certified as a Bee Friendly Park!
As one of the longest running green tourism awards in the UK, The David Bellamy Conservation Award Scheme recognises the work UK Holiday Parks do to protect and enhance Britain’s Natural Environment.
Wherever possible we try to use local suppliers and choose eco-friendly packaging and products, but there is no excuse for single-use, and this year we aim to reduce the impact our park and your holiday has on the environment by taking steps to further reduce single use plastics on our park.
In 2018 we swapped plastic straws for paper in our bars, and opted to use a fully compostable potato starch film, rather than the standard plastic for our main 2019 Brochure mailout. In 2019 we will be introducing an eco-friendly product range to our shop, plus a discount off hot drinks when you bring your reusable cup!
If you looking to go greener for your 2019 holiday then visit the David Bellamy Awards Website for some tips on how you can play your part!
